    Declaration of Intent to form a baptist church signed

    November 20, 1978

    First meeting held, and name "Antioch" was chosen.

    December 3, 1978

    First worship service held.

    May 12, 1979

    The Sisterhood of Churches recognized Antioch as a Baptist Church.

    May 27, 1979

    Our Founder and Pastor-elect, William Thomas, Jr., was installed as the Pastor.

    August 28, 1981

    Antioch was blessed by the purchase of 3.8 acres of land.

    May 2, 1987

    Groundbreaking Services were held on the land site.

    August 5, 1989

    The Dedication and Cornerstone Laying Service was held.

    August 6, 1989

    First worship service held in new building.

    June 1995

    Minister Tyrone Petty was ordained.

    June 22, 1997

    The James A.K. Smith Center was dedicated.

    November 6, 1998

    Time capsule buried on property.

    January 2000

    Pastor Thomas became “Senior Pastor” and Reverend Tyrone C. Petty became Assistant Pastor.

    August 9th, 2001

    Founding Pastor, William Thomas, Jr. passed.

    August 18, 2001

    Church officers elected the Assistant Pastor Reverend Tyrone C. Petty, to serve as Interim Pastor.

    June 23, 2002

    The Pastor-Elect Reverend Tyron C. Petty, was installed as the second Pastor at Antioch.

    Celebrated the 1st anniversary of Pastor Tyrone C. Petty.

    August 23, 2003

    Pastor Tyrone C. Petty was united in Holy Matrimony to Miss Karen Richards.

    Dedication services are being planned for the Hope Center, Inc.

    Antioch Hope Center opens.

    February 2005

    Antioch purchased 37 acres of land in Upper Marlboro as part of the church’s five year vision.

    Pastor Tyrone C. Petty receives his Doctorial degree.

    Antioch Hope Center opens its second child care center located on Brown Station Rd.
